1763: The Palmetto Journal is an open access, annual, online, peer reviewed undergraduate research journal dedicated to media and popular culture.
We welcome a variety of submissions that explore the complex interplay between media, culture, and society, including:
- Research Articles: In-depth analyses of media texts, trends, or cultural phenomena, encompassing both traditional and digital media.
- Case Studies: Focused examinations of a particular media product, event, or campaign within both traditional and digital media.
- Theoretical Essays: Submissions that explore and apply media and cultural theories to contemporary issues in traditional and digital media.
- Historical Analyses: Research that explores the historical development of media forms or cultural practices, including the evolution of digital media.
- Content Analyses: Systematic examinations of media content to identify patterns and trends across various forms of media.
- Digital Storytelling Projects: Original creative works that utilize digital media to tell compelling stories or explore cultural themes. This could include short films, interactive documentaries, web-based narratives, or other innovative digital formats.
- Digital Ethnographies: Research that uses ethnographic methods to study online communities, virtual worlds, or other digital spaces.
